Sheffield Theatres Card

A card featuring an illustration of Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre and Lyceum Theatre.

The Sheffield Lyceum was built in 1897 on the site of a previous Sheffield theatre. It closed in the late 1960s and changed hands multiple times before falling into disrepair. However, the theatre was saved, reopening in 1990 and is now used for a variety of theatre productions including touring West-End shows.

The Crucible also hosts theatrical productions but is probably most famous for hosting the annual World Snooker Championships. It was designed by Tanya Moiseiwitsch and built in 1971.

The card features an illustration of two of Sheffield’s theatres – The Crucible and The Lyceum.
