The Crooked Spire in Chesterfield Card

Chesterfield’s famous Crooked Spire is well known with lots of tales and stories surrounding the cause of the twisted spire. The most likely cause being that the wood that the spire is made from was not treated correctly and therefore twisted when the weight of the lead was added. Officially known as the Church of Saint Mary and All Saints, it is the largest church in Derbyshire and dates back to 1234AD.
